Program Overview
Topics in this certificate include basic hand tool usage, measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers, soldering, desoldering, and electrical connector technology. A fully operational DC power supply is constructed as a complete fabrication project. Principles and practices of basic electrical wiring including proper wiring methods, circuit sizing, and construction are emphasized. Proper tools, techniques, and testing methods are presented involving the application of electrical code standards. Prerequisite: Completion of Electricity Fundamentals certificate or instructor approval. Completion of the ITC Solid State Devices is recommended but not mandatory.
